“When my family took over the company in 2006, I was quite familiar with the history of Bross and I was fascinated by its innovative capacity and the idea of linking a traditional material, such as wood, to experimental forms and innovative design, which at the time bore the signature of Ettore Sottsass and a young promise of our industry, Rodolfo Dordoni. The chairs of Bross, as well as its tables, were distributed and marketed throughout Italy and their quality was guaranteed by a strong reality of a consolidated supply chain in the processing of wood, which has always represented its DNA.
I experienced the brand from the outside before taking the helm, so I accompanied it to the first goal of 30 years trying to maintain its recognizability and strengthen its values, but with a strong international vocation. The opening up to foreign markets – to nearby Europe, the Middle East, America, Japan and the East – and my desire to think of increasingly transversal collections, not only for the home, but also for the hotel, office and restaurant sectors, have required a substantial evolution. Design has become more complex: cultured, marked by a contemporary reinterpretation of Italian tradition, capable of declining the new habits of living coming from the most distant lands, increasingly respectful of our planet and its resources. The creativity of the forms, their elegance and ergonomics, has thus been combined with a broader technical expertise, made possible by the processes carried out in the factory, which include the various phases of woodworking, varnishing and upholstery. From tables and chairs, the product families have now expanded to include lounge chairs, upholstered furniture and furnishing accessories, where craftsmanship and natural materials make up the customizable design.
The 40 years are for everyone a moment of drive for the future, of desire for growth and ambition supported by a good awareness and so it is also for Bross, which faces this anniversary with the confidence of new goals to be achieved, some of which in this 2021. The values do not change, only the ways in which they are achieved and expressed change.”
